Information HomeOS may collect

If you create an account or use the app, HomeOS may collect:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, and sign-in details.
• Home information you choose to add, such as systems, appliance models, filter sizes, paint colors, contractor notes, and similar details.
• Maintenance history, including tasks, dates, reminders, and notes you record.
• App and website usage information, such as the screens or pages you use and general actions you take.
• Device and notification information, such as device type, operating system, and the token needed to deliver a reminder you asked for.

You choose what to put in the home record. Please do not add information about other people unless you are willing to be responsible for it, including a contractor’s contact details.

How that information is used

HomeOS uses this information to keep the home record you asked for, show maintenance guidance and reminders based on what you added, operate and protect the site and the app, improve them, respond if you contact us, and comply with law.

On this website today, the host may process ordinary technical logs — for example IP address, browser type, date, and the page requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Selling personal information

HomeOS does not sell your personal information.

When information is shared

Information is shared in limited cases.

• Service providers. Companies that host the site, store data, send a notification you requested, or help keep the service secure may process information for that work.
• Affiliate and service partners. If you choose an action that involves a partner — for example opening a product link, or requesting a professional service — that partner may receive only the minimum information needed for the action you requested. HomeOS does not send your whole home record for that purpose. What you do on a partner’s site, or with their service, is covered by their privacy policy.
• Legal and safety reasons. Information may be disclosed when it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, or protect the rights, safety, and security of HomeOS, our users, or others.
• A business transfer. If HomeOS is involved in a merger, sale, or similar transaction, information may transfer with the business. This policy will be updated if the way your information is handled changes in a material way.

Third-party services

HomeOS may rely on third parties for hosting, data storage, analytics, error monitoring, and notification delivery. Those providers process information under their own terms.

This website does not include advertising cookies or analytics scripts today. If that changes, this policy will be updated. The host may still use technical measures needed to serve and secure the site. If you follow a link to another company’s website, that company’s privacy policy applies from there.

Analytics and security

Analytics may be used in the future to understand, in aggregate, how the site and app are used. That can include device and usage information such as browser type, pages visited, and a general location derived from an IP address.

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and absolute security is not something this policy can promise.

Your requests

You may ask HomeOS to:

• Provide the personal information held about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete personal information associated with you

What can be provided or deleted depends on the circumstances and on the law that applies where you live. Some information may be kept when it is needed for security, fraud prevention, or a legal obligation. If that affects a request, we will say so.

Children

HomeOS is for adults taking care of a home. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as HomeOS changes. The effective date at the top will change when that happens. For a material change, once accounts exist, we will take reasonable steps to let account holders know, such as a notice in the app or an email.
